ORIGIN AND HISTORY
EID UL ZUHA, better known as Bakr Id in India is the feast of Sacrifice or the festival of offering. It is believed that on this day Prophet Ibrahim sacrificed his own 13 year old son to honor the word of The almighty and since he passed God's test of devotion, His son was brought back to life as a lamb. Since that day Bakr Id is celebrated to commemorate this great sacrifice by Ibrahim and is a remembrance of Allah's clemency.

Eid Ul Zuha is the ritual of sacrifice where a Goat or Bakra is sacrificed in the name of the lord. The revelries continue for three days of the holy month before the sun sets on the 13th day of the month.
