The first Celebrity wedding of 2016 turned out to be a glitzy affair that celebrated love and bonding in lavish and yet intimate way. You guessed it right, the wedding of Bollywood superstar Asin to Micromax CEO Rahul was everything that a fairytales are made up of. From an eye popping Diamond ring to the dreamy wedding venue, everything about this wedding was just perfect.
Their amazing love story reached a stunning climax on 19th January when friends and family witnessed the two love birds- Asin Thottukmal and Rahul Sharma getting hitched in not one but two ceremonies that tied them together in holy matrimony- one a traditional Hindu wedding and another a Christian wedding.
THE WEDDING RING
According to a report- "Rahul gifted Asin a 20-carat solitaire (specially imported from Belgium), that he personally got designed from one of their common designer friends. The ring is currently valued at Rs 6 crore. It has a monogram of the couple ‘AR’ (A for Asin and R for Rahul) under the diamond and the band of the ring, that is also made of diamonds, carries a personal message from Rahul to Asin engraved on it." How romantic!
THE AR LOGO
This logo AR was omnipresent everywhere in the wedding celebrations- in the decor, on the cards, even Rahul's Sherwani and his reception outfit's buttons were engraved with the "AR" Logo. So much for love and its ardent display!
THE WEDDING CARD
Their wedding card was designed by EDC Designs who had also designed the wedding invites for Harabhajan Singh and Geeta Basra. The ‘Save The Date’ is a metal embossed card done for a select guest list. Both Asin and Rahul were involved in choosing the design and the overall look of the card. It was classy and simple.
THE WEDDING
The couple first had a Christian wedding ceremony at the picturesque Dusit Devarana hotel in New Delhi. A Chapel set up made the entire ceremony look very serene and authentic. Bollywood's attendance was limited to actor Akshay Kumar, who is also supposed to have played cupid between the two. Not only is Akshay Asin's co star, he was also the best man and is a close friend of the groom too. Asin looked glorious in a white Wera Wang Gown while Rahul looked dapper in his Black suit with a bow tie.
The Christian wedding was followed by A hindu wedding with all the rituals amid flowers, chandeliers, fountains and all things beautiful. For her grand wedding, Asin opted for a stunning Sabyasachi Mukherjee golden voluminous lehenga . The groom wore a Raghvendra Rathore traditional suit. And of course his buttons had the very prominent AR Logo in place! It was a close knit affair with a select few but the couple made up for that with a star studded Reception in Mumbai.
THE GRAND RECEPTION
The gala reception was held at Four Seasons in Mumbai and was graced by many Bollywood celebs including Shilpa Shetty, Twinkle Khanna, Jacqueline Fernandez, Preity Zinta, Tabu, Rana Daggubati, Prabhudeva, R Madhavan, Chunky Pandey, Pinky Reddy, Krishika Lulla, Tanuj Garg and Divya Kumar Khosla. Asin chose to wear a gorgeous pastel Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla for the evening, the groom chose a black Raghavendra Rathore.
