What would you call a fashion mega event with over 83 top designers participating from across the continent, 15 years in running and the shows getting better and bigger each year? You, me and the rest of the world would call it the LAKME FASHION WEEK 2015.
This celebration of fashion style and magnanimity came to a glorious end after 5 days of non stop fashion and a downpour of celeb power. The City of Mumbai literally came on a fashionable standstill with all roads leading to the LFW 2015. The saga saw participation from names like Manish Malhotra, Raghvendra Singh Rathore, Shivvan and Naresh, Anamika Khanna, Tarun Tahiliani and many more illustrious leaders from the fash frat. Bollywood came out in full support of the event with most divas seen on the runways and in the front rows cheering, posing and sashaying down the ramp for their favorite designers. From the look of things at the LFW, We can safely say that Indian fashion has truly come of age. Since it was a SUMMER RESORT collection ,designs were very summery and free. So flowing silhouettes, vivid prints, cuts and sheer, whites and color blast was most prominent amongst all the design lines.

1. WHITE and HOW !!
Most designers such as Manish Malhotra, Anamika Khanna, Arpita Mehta etc. created statement ensembles in this super cool super elegant color. Take your style cue and opt for serene whites/ off whites and creams for the hot summer ahead.
2.PRINTS GALORE
A summer collection sans breezy prints is incomplete and colorless literally. The designers didn't disappoint and there was a lot of attention given to prints. Sabyasachi went floral and Tarun Tahiliani went super bright! It was truly rainbow on a platter and a delight to watch! Deepika looked resplendent in her floral skirt and crop top look by Sabyasachi!
3. ELECTRIC BLUE, MIDNIGHT BLUES & AQUAMARINE

The cool shade was trending on the runway and most designers, especially Manish Malhotra used blue floral patterns in abundance. Combined with beige white or even yellows, they look just fantastic.
4. RED HOT

Red is catchy, feminine, fierce and passionate. Red is love. And we all loved the red outfits that could be seen in western and Indian silhouettes with equal prominence. Include red formals in your summer look and stay super sassy!
5. PALLAZOS & PANTS

While a fine balance is needed to create a structured look, this year there was lots of mix and match with the rule of thumb. So even though fitted crop tops were being teamed up with flowy, voluminous skirts, palazzos were also making their presence felt in both casual and formal wear. So while Kiran Uttam Ghosh served some amazing elegant looks, Anamika Khanna gave a more experimental twist to the royal pants. Also, fitted cigarette pants could be seen with capes and asymmetrical tunics. The trend is surely here to stay!
